sinking mud

Along the coastline near Norden there are expansive beaches with a type of clay mud. It’s supposed to be good for the skin and body. Half expected to see people rolling in the stuff but after sinking deep into it I soon realised why this would not be a good idea. It smells pretty gross too but feels oddly satisfying squelching in it.
