aberdeen to cruden bay

Had thought about staying another night in Aberdeen but just didn’t feel right. So cooked up some food for the day and left to ride up to Collieston or Cruden Bay.

Took a whole lot of long time to get out of Aberdeen – but not as long as it did Edinburgh. Took the time beforehand to look for the ring roads around the city to avoid getting stuck right bang in the middle of the city.

Before Cruden Bay I stopped at Collieston for food. Met a couple of biologists local to the area and was advised about some lovely spots to visit on the way to Inverness and some good places to eat.

Turns out they have been also to Ny Alesund research station in Spitsberg – was great to speak to them about it as this was one of my favorite places that we visited when I worked on the ships – we had to be on guard to protect the passengers if Polar bears came to attack – funny.

Made it to Cruden Bay, pitched up. Took shower and slept.
