downhill into aberdeen

Was a lovely day riding to Aberdeen finished with the best downhill decent into Aberdeen – couldn’t have been any better.

Left St Cryus and headed up to Stonehaven. Have to say, these sort of small but large towns are not really my thing. I love cycling through the small villages made up of 5-8 houses – where the curtains twitch as you cycle through, villagers look in confusion – sometimes I ride in confusion – but this is mostly caused from the GPS. However, the towns (small but large) have one or two major roads going through them and then these small residential sections off the main road – finding a point of place of interest I find difficult.

After Stonehaven the ride inland was very nice – gradual hills up and down and the wind still behind me. Just a pleasure to ride really. I arrived into the city and followed the GPS religiously and well…it actually got me there. I was staying in a hostel and this was more how I imagined hostels to be – not like the flashy one I stayed in whilst in Edinburgh.

The sweetest lady on reception made me feel right at home and sorted both me and the bike out. I popped into the city and got my legs waxed – felt nice a smooth again.
