Cycling down the Setesdal Valley was flat the majority of the way and it was a nice ride too. The rain came down heavy as I was leaving the campsite until the evening, of which I thought for my own sanity it was best to stay somewhere warm for the night. I arrived in Evje and this is considered a big town in the valley and found a great little cabin for the night. It was so cute and with this I bought some new shoes too – that don’t leak! Number 19 was where I curled up cosy and warm for the night and woke up the next morning like some stuffley bear – it was great – if I had more cash would stay in a cabin EVERY night.

The following day I cycled on down to Kristiansand and again this was a nice ride – relatively gradual, the weather was a little on the undecided. As you get towards the coast you find the hills become more up and down and up and down – you are forever changing gears but cycling around the fjords and in the valleys it is more long climbs and long downhills, which is much better when on a touring bike as there is so much weight on the bike. Arriving in Kristiansand, you come through the industrial estate – not that nice. The centre of town is very pleseant though and the last time I was here I pottered about in the town and up to the botanical gardens and they were lovely.
