hiking in the setesdal valley

I fell in love with the quirky little campsite and so firstly had a tent day, as it rained like the world hadn’t rained before – thats another thing… if a Norwegian tells you its going to rain, it means the country is going to be flooded, your likely to see old Noah sailing past in his ark. This day I slept and slept and slept and ate and slept and slept. It was the best.

The following day the weather had improved – after moving my tent from the bog holed splodge, I felt happier that I wasn’t going to sink away into the ground like when in quicksand. I had chose to cycle up the Setesdal Valley for the day and visit a small waterfall hike.

So after the first hugest hill possible, it was flat – I cycled a whole hour on the flat – this was strange to me… could it be possible that there was flat roads in Norway? Had such a great day with amazing views, beautiful weather and just nice all around. The hike was small compared to the Kjerag but charming.

One good thing about my mum’s leaky shoes – you don’t need to take them off to cross the river – they make me smile all the time (especially because I have had rainy weather of all sorts). You put socks and shoes on all dry and then all of a sudden you feel a cold bit of something passing over your toes and ohhhpp there it is…the water is in and then…well…there is no going back.
