on the way to rosemarkie

Was pushing it the whole morning to get around and past Inverness to escape the wind. The weather had picked up somewhat since yesterday. Seemed to be a bit more sunny and less rain and sort of less wind. Leaving on a full English breakfast – I could barely move.

Following Route 1 this took you back inland (sometimes I don’t like this and attempt to use the GPS to re-navigate) but it was a bit sunnier so thought I would follow and well it turned out to be lovely. It took you through the forests and I can’t remember seeing anyone for hours – just wildlife – with the typical cows and sheep. I think it was today cows ran after me – I got the biggest fright and peddled as fast as I could but you know they are really quite big and scary and I don’t believe that a piece of wire will stop then getting through if they wanted too – so yeah peddled like some crazy person away. I wondered if one had mad cow disease because it was jumping and leaping like the new lambs do and rolling its head around – scary stuff.

When arriving at Rosemarkie it felt such a lovely place – very peaceful and was worth any days effort of cycling.
