leaving home

The day had arrived to leave home. Had a late night getting all my bits sorted and was really quite tierd but confident that had done as much as i could have done to be on the way. Left home around 9am and made good timing to Whitby, along the ‘railway track’ – felt … Continue reading

brazilian panniers

I have been very fortunate to be loaned and given some bits and pieces to go away with as I had never expected that the costs involved in something like this would be so much. Coming back to the UK after all of the change is really bad, I never remember things being so … Continue reading

got a bike

I love it, I love it!!! ohhhh my goodness, it is so much more comfortable to ride than the road bike. I feel like I’m floating and well (whether this is my head) but I feel more of lady sitting more up-right, (must remember to take my Chanel for days when I’m looking like a … Continue reading

However, all we have been thinking about in terms of finding out how good this device is … Continue reading

keeping things dry-wetbags

Have been pre-warned about anything and everything getting wet along the way, even though equipment and clothes are waterproof. Was advised to get some wetbags, as well to help organise in the panniers where clean, dirty, riding, non-riding clothes are. Found some waterproof fabrics that had been given on my Masters programme. Some lightweight, some … Continue reading

tent arrives

My tent arrived really fast in the post. All seems fine with it. Nothing too complicated. Just having some issues the elastic hoops that hold the inner to the outer shell of the tent, as they are very weak – I’m attaching plastic curtain hooks for added strength.

camping in the garden

In the summer time as most kids do, we would camp in the garden. It was so exciting. My sister had a 2-man tent and it was dead cool to be having a sleep over in the garden. The next day my parents would get up and we would have breakfast out there – ‘as … Continue reading
