this is the other bits

friendly faces

‘Support Team Parents’ took me to the outskirts of Edinburgh so I could spend a few days there gathering myself together to re-plan the route and getting some bit and pieces.

Was raining when I left them and it was so sad… I didn’t want to carry on with the bike ride. I wanted to go somewhere away from the bike, somewhere warm with friendly faces that I knew well. But, I don’t give up on things well – the stubbornness can be both positive and negative.

Headed into Edinburgh and went to the hostel, which was more like a hotel than anything. Dropped off my bags there and then found a bike shop of mystical magic and niceness, with a warm and welcoming face and an offer of a huge cup of tea.

A few hours later after drinking the tea and washing my feet in the huge cup. The shop owners Peter and Pierre offered to take me up to some local bike shops and book stores to get what I needed which was very nice indeed. I repaid the kindness with an amazing Indian takeout. We went to a lovely little jazz club on the evening – now the guy that was the best – the one what I remembered was called William Douglas -just a little guy but he just had a really good vibe about him – happy to have heard him play, made me smile. There were some other singer/songwriters – all called Toby it seemed.
